The 13th Edition of the Santos Peñoles Cup is coming soon!

• Around 450 teams will participate in this international tournament.

Torreón, Coah., April 15, 2025 – This Tuesday marked a very special moment for Club Santos Laguna and Industrias Peñoles: the press conference presenting the 13th edition of the Copa Internacional Santos Peñoles, the most important youth and children’s tournament in Mexico.

In attendance at the conference were Alejandro Irarragorri Kalb, President of Club Santos Laguna; Antonio Baca, Liaison Manager at Industrias Peñoles; Mara Fájer, Director of Impulso Orlegi; and Lino Juárez, Coordinator of the Santos Peñoles Academies.

Alejandro Irarragorri Kalb commented:“This cup began several years ago with 40 teams, and today, around 450 teams will be seeking glory, including the Santos Peñoles Academy network, which impacts a large number of families. All teams will enjoy a great experience at the Territorio Santos Modelo facilities, a top-level complex where they’ll get to experience moments similar to what our professional teams live day to day.”

“In addition, it’s important to highlight that as part of the Copa Santos Peñoles experience, there will be a category for people with intellectual disabilities, as we are also committed to sending and spreading a message of inclusion. We are deeply grateful to Peñoles, our sponsor and strategic partner, with whom we share the philosophy and vision of using sports as a platform to transform communities, giving new generations the tools and values to grow in a well-rounded way.”

Meanwhile, Antonio Baca emphasized:“This Cup completely transforms the Laguna region. This project began in 2011 as a small seed and has since borne much fruit. It has a significant impact in the region, creating a family-oriented atmosphere that overflows everywhere, becoming a national and international benchmark.”

During her remarks, Mara Fájer stated:“The Cup will take place from April 30 to May 5, covering a week of celebration full of activities and the passion shown by all the participating teams. As in every edition, we’re planning a spectacular opening ceremony at Estadio Corona, which has become a very special moment each year.”

“Territorio Santos Modelo will serve as the main venue for the matches, boasting great infrastructure for their development. Over 200 matches will be played daily, with expectations of closing registration at 450 teams across 18 categories, including the women’s division and the Guerreros de Corazón category.”

Finally, Lino Juárez stated:“As part of our social commitment, we have established 11 Santos Peñoles soccer academies in 7 Mexican states, and we’ll have 30 teams participating in this 13th edition of the Copa Internacional Santos Peñoles.”

Additional Information:

• The opening ceremony will celebrate the region of La Laguna and will take place on Wednesday, April 30 at 8:30 PM at Estadio Corona.

• Alternative venues will be available thanks to the support of various clubs, schools, and universities, all of which have first-class facilities.

• The finals will be held on May 4 and 5, with awards given per category at TSM.

• Several current Santos players have had the opportunity to play in the Copa Santos Peñoles, including Carlos Acevedo, Santiago Muñoz, Jordan Carrillo, and Stephano Carrillo, who was recently transferred to European football and came up through the Santos Velardeña Academy, to name just a few.
